Our Commitment to Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. To protect your privacy under the lawful basis of “legitimate interest” (please request this lawful information if required) we are providing this information within our website explaining our collection of personal data and how this data is used within Beauty Essence Salon. In order to make this information available to all our clients we have inserted this on our homepage and within the Salon i.e. at every point where personally identifiable information is requested.

    In some instances you can submit information regarding other people, i.e. if you order a gift voucher, either online or in the Salon, and want it sent directly to the
    recipient. To enable this you would need to submit the recipients address. In this instance the personal information collected are:
  • Name
  • Address
  • Telephone Number

 

Information We Do Not Collect

Credit/Debit Card information.

The Way We Use This Information

Treatment record card – We use this personal data information solely for the purposes of providing a treatment requested by you, on a record card, which on each visit lists medical history and the treatment given along with any comments necessary for the ongoing good service to yourself.
Email information is used solely to contact you and to inform you of monthly special offers. Email addresses are never passed on outside the Salon business.
Mobile numbers are used for Text messages as reminders of booked appointments and to contact you regarding your appointments. Mobile numbers are never passed on outside the Salon business.
We share information of special offers and our newsletter on Facebook but these are never person specific.
We never use or share personally identifiable information provided for use either online or verbally/written in the Salon unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you with an opportunity to prohibit such unrelated uses.

Our Commitment to Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accurate and ensure the correct personal data we have put in place appropriate physical and electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we have online. To prevent virus attacks our systems are protected by malware and anti-virus AVG software, email (Mail Chimp using CVS format) and texting (Text local).
Each processor (person who collects and inputs personal information) is aware of their obligations to privacy and security and has a specific login per person, (no sharing) the password of which is changed on a regular basis, and they are required to logout whenever they leave the computer unattended.
Written/hard copy record cards, are used on a “Clear Desk” basis, and are securely locked away when not in use

Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy

Protecting the privacy of very young children who attend the Salon is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information on our website or within the Salon from those we actually know are under 13 years and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13. Should a child receive treatment this would always be at the consent of a parent or guardian by way of their signed consent.

How You Can Access, Correct or Withdraw Your Information

You can access any personally identifiable information that we collect online or maintain within the Salon by contacting the Salon or by sending us an email. We use this procedure to better safeguard your information. You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request.
To protect your privacy and security, we will always take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections i.e. a passport or similar documents.

Disposal of Confidential Data

When personal data is no longer required in order to give a service this will be disposed of through shredding but retained for 7 years.

Sharing Your Information

The only reason that your information would be shared outside the Salon is in the case of an Insurance Claim or information required by a Law Enforcement Agency.
